Ryan J. Owens is the Director of the Tommy G. Thompson Center on Public Leadership and is the George C. and Carmella P. Edwards Professor of American Politics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is an Affiliate Faculty in the Law School and an Honorary Fellow in the Institute for Legal Studies. Owens studies law and courts and American political institutions. His work analyzes the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals, legal institutions, and judicial behavior. He has written three books with a fourth under contract, and over 30 articles.
